Mountains are raised land masses that are gifted with unique presence & ascendance. They fence vast fields & defy horizons. Ethiopia is a mountainous land with about 70% percent of African mountains found within its boundaries. So it is a topographically raised country with a collection of high-rise creations. We lift our eyes to these elevated features like the psalmist in the Bible. Help however only descends from their Maker who is in Heaven: "My help comes from the Lord" (Ps 121:2). We have so many of them; and yet we have had so much difficulty & trouble over the centuries. Let's raise our hopes beyond our gaze to a God who walks on them in glory.
