Truth defies the gravity of pretension.

Written by  Monday, 23 June 2014 00:00

The Ethiopian print & electronic media are abuzz with the disreputable motivational speaker, Samuel. The extent of untruthful talks & level of exaggeration hanging over the claims could easily label him as pathological liar. The story raises a big question though: How far does he represent our society? This fellow would not be the only boat in the sea of lies. With honesty taken as a lame support in a treacherously fast-paced world, truth is getting thinner & thinner. There is however a model namesake in the Bible: “The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of his words fall to the ground” (1Sa 3:19). Taken as it is, truth defies the gravity of pretension. NA, in Christ.
