True friendship is guaged by the depth of information shared between two hearts. If the flow is constantly one way, the conversants are a counselor & counselee. With friends opening up is at both ends. Everything, from tears to laughter, from hiccups to thrills, has meaning & significance. Here bonding is sharing.

In Jesus we have the highest form of friendship. He assured His disciples: "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you" (Jn 15:15). As a Friend, He expects us to get closer & open up. In deeper relationship there is delight in learning about things firsthand. The all-knowing Lord has His mind on everything. He however cares to relate personally.
