Prayer is powerful when it is blended with the soul. A closed womb by God and a resulting irritation by a rival, Peninnah, pushed Hannah’s soul to the limit. It had reached ‘melting point.’ A godly woman, she had no choice but “pour” it out “to the LORD” (1 Sam 1:15). God received the prayerful soul & granted her wish in Samuel. She later made an inspiring call: “Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the LORD is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed.” Her journey was from humiliation to humbleness, not from humiliation to haughtiness.
