The night into Wednesday I woke up at 4:08. I did what I did and wanted to resign to sleep. To quicken the process I turned on my phone to read a feature article on the BBC. Coincidentally it was on a research result concerning sleep by scientists from Harvard to Cambridge. It condemns the "arrogance" of man over sleep, which is significantly reduced due to modern lifestyle. (I became sleepy before I finished reading though.) The 'wide-awake' can see the balance in the Bible: "Do not love sleep or you will grow poor" (Pr 20:13); elsewhere it says, "The sleep of a laborer is sweet" (Ecc 5:12). Under a good God, a sober sleep makes a person good-tempered. NA, in Christ.
