Good name

Written by  Thursday, 03 April 2014 00:00
Good name or reputation is like a well-rooted plant in a pot. It flourishes wherever it is moved, giving joy & freshness along the way. Those who lead exemplary lives bring forth optimism & hope to a society. Their thoughts are deep, but overflow the thinking fields. Their voices are low, but are heard from far-off. Their actions are less glossy, but glow in the entire surrounding. Solomon worded it beautifully, “A good name is better than fine perfume” (Ecc 7:1). People on the contrary forfeit goodness for fine goods. Sweet smell with a sour conscience has become the trend these days. Perfumes (externals) are short-lived & corruptible. But good name has no end. NA, in Christ.
