"Growth is not soft"

Children want to be soothed & pacified when hungry, sleepy & uncomfortable. They don’t have the character ammunition within to bear with discomforts. So they suck on pacifiers for tranquility or sleep. It is cheap & empty (‘dry’); yet effective to serve the purpose momentarily. People in the house of God are becoming restless, needing quick fixes by the day. They get along with teachings that are like pacifiers lacking the substance vital for growth. The people in Isaiah’s time were disappointingly direct: “Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophecy illusions” (Isa 30:10). Growth however is not soft. Strength follows solid appetite. NA, in Christ.
