When was the time you asked God about certain things that you need to have or change in your life? , times you cried river praying for his intervention in situations you knew you cannot change by hook or crook? , times you thought it was the end and harbor in your hearts a smoldering anger? , those mysterious and inscrutable up and downs of life where all we need is for Christ to come?  Then the God who always chose better for us than we possibly could, would answer to our prayers after such a long suffering and despair on that “last minute” in our eyes.  The selfish selves get too busy to even think about those times they cried themselves to sleep with worry, stress and depression, they forget the gloomy days, the times they wanted to be alone and complain everything to God, every now and then. The time nothing seemed to make sense around us. Our situations leading dire predictions about what might happen next if things don’t change for us. Our vital part was crying over and over again with prayers that affront that created us, “Father, you are not watching at all”, “you never answer my prayers”.  God has answers!  It is written, his words are true. However late our prayers seem, he surely is up to something even though it is the last thing we would like hear when we are troubled and poor in spirit. The selfish selves who have been talking to God almost every minute of the day tend to ignore the greatest miracle that happen to them, an answered prayer. Hours and hours of request to God resort to routine and perfunctory prayer of few micro seconds, more like, “I hope you are still watching over me”.

We do have so many things to ask God and surely, we should, he is our father, healer, protector and provider.  But, are we as one of those lepers who goes back with a praising loud voice, throw ourselves in his feet and thank him from a heartfelt for what he has done, changing our test to a testimony and our mess to a message or as the nine lepers who never turned back to Christ after they called out in a loud voice and received their everlasting healing?.

“Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”  (Luke 11-19, NIV)

I am convicted of those times, highly.

Thank you father, for the things you have done, for your promises but most of all, for unerringly knowing what is best for me.
