God's immanent & transcendental features (near & out there far from us respectively) continue to be matters of deliberation. We feel God is close; yet He is beyond now & here. When on the other hand we think we have lost His tracks, He reappears. Each aspect reveals God's character or dealings with His creation so to speak. When we call Him "father" we declare the relational closeness between us. Care, providence & protection take root here. As a sovereign God though, He is unapproachable, incomprehensible & imperceptible. Through Jeremiah He asserted rhetorically: '“Am I only a God nearby,”declares the Lord,“and not a God far away?' (23:23). His actions are reflections of His entire nature.
