People are represented by their names more than they carry their identity signatures. In other words, names carry weight & exert influence. This is evident in the Bible, where destiny is attached with naming. And one name stands out exceptionally: the name of Jesus, meaning 'Yahweh saves'. Jesus prayed in the longest recorded prayer in the New Testament: "While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me" (Jn 17:12). A name that does "protect" & "keep" through thick & thin. Our names, as good as they are, may represent & promote us; but none is higher & greater to shelter in all 'weathers'. If our safety is guaranteed by "that name" no matter what, we should be proud of it in all circumstances.
