If hatred isn't tempered, it boils down to murder. You find no better example than Cain of Genesis. God, who became the difference between the two brothers, knocked at Cain's heart: "Sin is crouching at the door. It desires to dominate you, but you must subdue it" (Ge 4:7). His sacrifice (worship) wasn't accepted earlier. But he deserved to be cautioned. God is fair. He instead chose to let the negative emotion control his relation. He killed Abel, who was true to himself & God. Whenever we miss on God, sin doesn't miss on us. And what would have been an easy victory becomes a tough battle. Let's be true worshippers, than messed-up fighters. NA, in Christ.
