Saturday afternoon, an incident gripped my attention as I was taking coffee in a café. Two teenage boys were engaged in a fight in a distance. It broke off. They started it again. Another passerby arbitrated. A moment later, they began the shoveling & pushing. Yet another bystander stepped in to mediate. It went on. Each mediator taking it afresh, but not profoundly. Reconciliation isn’t damage minimization though; nor does it end on conflict management. It is hurting with the hearts until the relationship is restored. It took “one body to reconcile” all, without exception, “to God through the cross” (Eph 2:16). Had it not been for Jesus, life would have been too disturbing & biting. NA, in Christ.
