Passion & pleasure are the two ends in man’s purpose, plan & pursuit of life. If people have the passion for action & shelter the pleasure they aspire, they are deemed successful. Those who fall behind envy them, mistakenly thinking that they are enjoying the crème of life. Reality check: frustration & hopelessness wait beyond the highest form of pleasure in this world. Man is a prisoner to “all kinds of passions and pleasures” (Tit 3:3). This is true until lasting freedom & worth are restored “through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.” Unless humanity goes really deep & rediscovers the uppermost satisfaction in God, all would be like catching water with the hand.
