Israel’s campaign “in self defense” in Gaza has taken lives with gruesome pictures and footages coming. Children’s vulnerability is particularly deepened by the surgical operation & Hamas’ uncharacteristic resolve in using them as human shield – firing rockets from residential areas where children are pictured next to cannon. The hostility between Jews & Palestinians doesn’t seem to fall in the years (or decades) to come. Both parties are positioned far from the nature & call of Jesus while fighting for a region He walked upon with the note of reconciliation. If they heeded His message, “love your neighbor as yourself” (Mt 22:39), the soil wouldn’t be watered by blood.
