He is patient…not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

As we were fellowshipping and chatting over breakfast, a delegate from Uganda jumped on quoting John Hagee: "If God doesn't soon bring judgment upon America, He'll have to go back and apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!" This wasn’t originally said by the zealot Hagee who gave his own reading of the matter, “3-0 ruling from the Supreme Court in Heaven". (It was Ruth Graham who quipped after reading Billy’s notes back in the years.) God however isn’t answerable to anyone. First, “God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy” (Ro 9:18). Secondly, and more fundamentally, He has poured all His anger over sin on Himself (God the Son). So Jesus is the difference. Because of Him judgment is pushed further. “He is patient…not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
